Abigail & Li ~ Flaxton Gardens Wedding

Abigail relocated from Caloundra to Tokyo for university and that's where she met Li.  They quickly became great friends and it didn't take too long for them to fall head over heels in love. The pair travelled all the way from Tokyo, Japan to be married at the iconic Sunshine Coast Hinterland wedding venue, Flaxton Gardens.  This was an easy choice for them to make because they loved the diversity the Sunshine Coast offered.  From the beaches to the rolling green hills of the hinterland, it just had the best of both worlds.Flaxton Gardens weddingTheir wedding couldn't have been more perfect!  Clear skies, a perfect sunset and a day filled with happy tears and beaming smiles.  They were surrounded by their closest friends and family, who travelled as far as Tokyo to join in the celebration and dance the night away under the starry Flaxton Gardens' lights.Abigail, her Mum and her bridesmaids chose to get ready at their home.  This meant so much to them, because they had spent such a long time renovating it."Seeing it look so beautiful in our photos made us so proud".Abigail's Mum walked her down the aisle to Perfect (Ed Sheeran).  Local musician, Graham Hobson learnt this song especially for their wedding and sung it live.My absolute favourite part of their day though was when Li and Abigail caught sight of each other at their ceremony.  Sometimes I find it hard not to tear up behind my camera, and this was definitely one of those occasions. The most emotional moment for Abigail was when their pastor acknowledged the people who couldn’t be there for their wedding. He mentioned Abigail's Dad, who has passed away four years ago. It was very emotional, as her Dad was a huge support and encouraged her to study and live in Japan, and she knew he would have loved Li.Abigail and Li chose their wedding suppliers because they were not only talented, but had the same vibe as them and they knew these people cared about their wedding just as much as they did.Keeping their guest list small was also important to them because they wanted to socialise with their closest family and friends and for them to know how grateful they were to have them there. While most couples usually want to head to the iconic One Tree Hill for their location photos, we decided to venture somewhere different. The Summit is just around the corner from Flaxton Gardens and provided the perfect backdrop.  We didn't mind the Highland cows ogling from the other side of the fence, either!Sunshine Coast Hinterland Wedding PhotographerSunshine Coast Hinterland Wedding PhotographerAbigail's bride tribe were #squadgoals! These two couldn't keep their eyes off each other all day.  Of course I was happy with that, because they hardly even noticed I was there.Sunshine Coast Hinterland Wedding PhotographerFlaxton Gardens weddingAbigail and Li's advice for engaged couples: "Don’t stress about making it perfect, chances are, the mistakes won’t even bother you when you are having the time of your life!"
